Garretstown Strand, March 2013

Garretstown Beach

As part of my photography course, I’ve been challenging myself to use my wide angle Sigma 10-20mm lens more frequently. I’ve always found it challenging to use, unsure about how to add interest when framing the photos. I realised most of my problem was that I was not looking for the drama in the composition and not getting close enough to the subject to frame it properly.

A cold afternoon on Garretstown Strand where I kicked off my shoes and got into the freezing Atlantic water to capture the incoming waves and rising tide. My feet may have turn blue from the cold but it was worth it to overcome my block with my wide-angle lens.
